About the Artist – Paula Rose Studio

Paula Rose is an acrylic painter specializing in dreamy, semi-abstract works. As a visual storyteller, she creates poetic worlds that balance emotion, imagination, and painterly depth.

From a young age, Paula aspired to become a painter. When asked as a child what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was always the same: a painter. Captivated by the act of painting from an early age, she naturally continued to pursue this passion through dedicated artistic training.

Her artistic education began with a three-year weekend drawing school, where she developed a strong technical foundation that later informed her academic and professional practice. She then pursued art at an academic level, completing a BA in Illustration and Visual Communication at the University of Westminster, London. Since graduating, Paula has devoted herself fully to her artistic career.

Her work is deeply inspired by nature, particularly its colors, forms, and dynamic energy. Paula integrates realism with abstraction, drawing influence from artists such as Claude Monet, especially in her use of light and shifting color. She combines traditional, flat painterly elements with thick, layered acrylic paint, creating a tactile, three-dimensional surface that enhances both the visual and emotional impact of her paintings.

Recurring motifs in her work include animals, landscapes, and emotive forms, allowing space for personal interpretation. Animals play a significant role in her practice, radiating calmness, soothing energy, and a deep sense of security. Their presence creates a true safe space — one that feels grounding and nurturing, gently inviting the viewer to slow down, soften, and simply be. Her creative process is also influenced by music, literature, and film.
